The 5 Best Email Templates for Requesting Online Reviews

The 5 Best Email Templates for Requesting Online Reviews 1

The answer to getting more online reviews has always been to ask. That seems simple enough… until it comes to time to actually start asking for online reviews.

What exactly are you supposed to say in order to maximize your chance of getting an online review?

This is a question we get asked quite often. At Repcheckup we have the data from thousands of online review solicitations, we decided to do some digging and see which email templates are best for requesting online reviews.

Here’s what we found to be the 5 Best Email Templates for Requesting Online Reviews:

Online Review Request #1: Thank You for Being a Customer

The first email template is the most basic. We call it the “Thank You for Being a Customer” template. This basic template is perfect for when you are just starting your online review solicitation campaigns. The best part of this template is that it won’t require your customer to give up a lot of data (or do a whole lot), leading to more online reviews.

Here’s how this email template reads:

“Hey {first_name}, thank you for your shopping with us today! In order to best serve you and others, could you click on this link {link} to answer one question about your service experience today? Thanks {Insert Company Name}”

Online Review Request #2: Leave Us a Review on {Insert Website Here}

The second most effective email template for online review solicitation is what we call the “Rate Us Online” template. This template is specifically designed to help you increase your reviews on a specific online rating website. This is important if you have poor online reviews on a specific rating or review website.

Here’s how this email template reads:

“Hi {first_name}, we greatly appreciate your business. Can you take 1 minute to answer to leave a review on {website} about your experience with us? Here is the link {link}. Thanks for your help!”

Online Review Request #3: {Insert Name}, How Did We Do?

Positive online reviews are not the only reason to solicit feedback from customers. Sometimes, you want to know how you did, from the customer’s point of view. This is where the, “How Did We Do?” template is most effective.

Here’s how this email template reads:

“Hey {first_name}, could you help us learn more about how we did today? Please click this link {link} and let us know how we are doing? We appreciate your feedback. Thank you! {Your_Name}”

Online Review Request #4: Would You Recommend Us?

We all know that word of mouth is a major driver of new customers for most businesses. Yet most businesses don’t know which of their customers are spreading the word to their friends and family. With the, “Would You Recommend Us?” template, you can find your best customers – the ones who are likely to recommend you to a friend or family member.

Here’s how this template reads:

“Hi {first_name}, thank you for your business. Can you take a minute to answer a question about your time with us? Here is the link {link}. Your insights are valuable and will help us better perform in the future!

Online Review Request #5: Your Opinion Matters

The customer might not always be right, but their opinions certainly matter. In fact, you can often learn more from listening to customer opinions on your business than any market research report. When you’re looking to grab more feedback, the “Your Opinion Matters” template should be your go-to message.

Here’s how this template reads:

“Hey {first_name}, your opinion matters to us. Could you take 1 minute to leave us feedback on your visit? This link {link} will take you to a quick survey with 3 questions. Afterwards, you may be asked to leave a review on our {website} profile. We appreciate your help and thank you for your business!”
