How to Get Yelp Reviews Unfiltered
Here’s a frustrating issue: what if you’ve gotten dozens of new reviews that you want to show off…but some of them aren’t showing up?
Yelp has a feature that automatically “filters” certain reviews. This happens so that they can show users the most relevant, or highly valued, reviews. While this is usually a good thing, reviews that end up filtered are as good as useless since they cannot be seen.
Many business owners have started trying to find ways to unfilter reviews. And that’s exactly what we’ll be discussing in this guide.
How to Unfilter Yelp Reviews
- Access Your Yelp Reviews
- Scroll to the Bottom of the Page and Click on the Reviews That Are “Not Recommended”
- View Your Filtered Reviews
- Add User
- Comment Back
Here’s what each step entails:
1. Access Your Yelp Reviews
To get started, make sure that you log into the right profile by heading to biz.yelp.com and signing in.
From there, you will arrive at your Dashboard where you can see a lot of information about your Yelp profile. Scroll to the left of the screen and click on “Reviews” in the sidebar.
Clicking this will land you on a new page filled with all of your reviews. Here, you can see all of the reviews that your customers will see live on your profile.
3. Scroll to the Bottom of the Page and Click on the Reviews That Are “Not Recommended”
Now that you’ve seen all of your reviews, scroll to the very bottom of the page to view your filtered reviews.
You will see a notice that says “X other reviews that are currently not recommended.”
While it may not look like a link, go ahead and click that sentence.
4. View Your Filtered Reviews
Now that you’ve clicked through to view all of the reviews that Yelp does not recommend, you will land on a page like this:
On this page, you will be able to see a log of all the reviews that Yelp thinks aren’t valuable. This can happen for a few reasons, including reviews from users who have no Yelp friends. Sometimes, reviews can also get flagged automatically as suspicious.
5. Add the User
One way that you can try and have a review unfiltered is to add the user. While this isn’t a fool-proof method, you can improve the likelihood that a review will become visible because the user now has a Yelp friend.
You can do this by clicking on their name in the review. It should be blue and clickable so that you can go to their profile.
Once you arrive on their profile, click “Add Friend”
6. Comment Back
Another option that you have to try and get a review unfiltered is to interact with it. By posting a public response, you can try to demonstrate to Yelp that their review is perfect.
Though it can feel like a difficult task to have a review unfiltered, these simple steps could help you get a few more reviews visible on your profile.
