How to Remove Reviews from your Facebook Business Page
As a business owner, it’s important for your business to have a social media presence. It’s a great way to interact with customers and gain feedback on your products or services. Customer reviews are one of the most important key components when it comes to managing the online reputation of your business.
There are essentially two options when it comes to removing reviews from your Facebook business page:
- Report the Review to Facebook
- Disable ALL of your Facebook Reviews
Option One: Reporting Reviews to Facebook
The following steps will get you on your way to reporting a review to Facebook:
1. Find the review on your business profile page that you want to report
2. Click on the three dots on the top right corner of the post
3. One of the following options you’ll have is to “Report Post”. Click it.
Option 2: Disabling All Facebook Reviews
Since you can only report a review, the other option you have as a business owner is to remove the option for users to leave Facebook reviews entirely.
When you disable Facebook reviews, they are only hidden to the public on your business page, but you still have the option to enable them for viewing later.
1. From your business profile page, click “Settings” in the top right corner.
2. In your Settings menu, under “General” the option to control your reviews is the third one down from the top. Click on “Edit” to change the visibility.
Select the option to “Disable reviews” and click the “Save Changes” button.
When Should You Remove Reviews?
This topic can be a bit controversial since, as a business owner, you want to make sure that potential customers and your community have an honest picture of your business. Negative reviews give business owners the opportunity to resolve issues that the customer had or take steps to improve the experience of future customers.
When a review is identified to be fake, or even goes into the realm of being abusive or threatening, then there are steps you can take to remove reviews that would otherwise be harmful to your business and your customer community. Online reviews give your business greater authority as far as your online reputation. The more you have, the more authority, and the greater the insight you get into the experience of your clientele.
Remember, Facebook is a social platform, and you want to make sure you’re creating a conversation about your business and interacting with your customers. Responding to reviews and resolving any issues that come up is a great way to enhance your customer experience and show your community that you truly care. Facebook provides a powerful tool for business owners to expand their presence online and interact with their customers in a meaningful way.
